MANIFESTO

There is no age as today as when the artworks that is closely related and supported by the technology, and there are many expressions preconditioned under the technological performance. These examples are especially remarkable at the audio expression. Having a lot of values at the benefit from the development of the recording and the reproduction technology of audio, still the impression "stereotype" cannot be wiped from hardware. Originally, hardware has the strategy to establish the standard in the society. As a result, it will not be an exaggeration at all that the sound expression is being theorized under the standard. At least when we watch the current state that exists in the background of various kinds of sound expressions, it can be felt strongly that the sound hardware has its enough potential. I define this influence from hardware to expression as e Hardware theory ' , and I focus not just contents but also sound hardware to bring new possibility for sound expressions. Stereophony is one of the method having found it in the process, and became motive in this activity.

Appealing "Spatially" by tying up to physical performance and bring the artworks which will never be achieved in existing sound hardware to draw out the further dynamism of sound. At the same time, appealing to "Community" approved to work space and bring plural & fluid aspect and communications. The "Misinterpretation of place" is the outline of my activity which stood up from combining these concepts. The expression field developed by this activity covers wide range. The contents of the activity crosses such a boundary according to the work like the performance or the installation, and etc. However, in any cases, there is a theme of "Misinterpretation of place" in the basis of the works.

I attaches importance especially at how to design an interface between people and sound in my production. "Physical performance" which is included in the outline of "Misinterpretation of Place" indicates the resonantly developing throb from relations between sounds and people, and the interface is the one to guarantee it. However, aiming at a new standard in the interface chiefly mounted on hardware might lead to the appearance of another "Hardware theory" at the same time,   and it is necessary to note it here most. There is no definite answer more than the difference of the level with the quality in the interface. The evaluation is an analog like the perception of man who operates it. The change and advancement are always requested to the interface in the field of art where strongly denying to make the common opinion. People   already knows that the relations between art and men will change fluid   by how the interface has designed and got realized.

The artwork that I produce aims at a bold sound expression with paying close attention to the adaptability of the interface, hardware and the contents. The sound is a phenomenon which causes vibration with assimilating to the space, and changes the real state of affairs in dramatic form. What kind of interaction can happen when the person's perception and consideration intervened in that space? My challenge is to develop the relations dynamically to the utmost between the sound, the space (environment), and the person.
