CONCEPT of "INDEPENDENT DIASPORA"
己の行動を強化する数々の武器を生み出し、こと現代においては「いかに人より多くの有益な情報を手に入れ、活用するか」という「探求＝seek」に特化した武器が多く現れた。個人の自由を社会的に獲得して以降、それらの武器の矛先もまた、己の自由意思によって決める時代となった。しかしやがて、「探求を強化する」ことに特化した武器は、射止めた情報を「標本化＝specimen」することでさらに己の武器を強化する、という一種の循環的行動を要求することとなる。かくして人は、循環的な生と自由意志という相反する心象を抱いたまま、不可思議な組織的混沌を形成するに至る・・・
これは「Generation X」と「Generation Y」のちょうど狭間の代としてアメリカに生まれ、その後の少年期を東京→ニューヨーク→トロント→東京と「地元は北半球」としか言いようが無い、地球規模で帰属意識に欠けた作者が、己を通して「現代的生の特性」をハードエッジに描く展覧会である。
Many inventions has realized in long history for intensifyng our life. Especially in our present age, the rising of technologies and equipments for seeking informations are truely remarkable. After acquiring individual liberty, we can decide the brunt of our "weapons" by ourselves. But in many cases, aquired informations are became specimens, and the weapon requires to intensify itself. Which means our activies are falling into individual and endless loops. Now people are handling the contradiction of looped life with liberal motives inside theirselves, and forming the curious social caos...
This exhibition is presented by a man who was born in USA at the generation between "Y" and "X", and raised in NY, Toronto and Tokyo who totally lost his belonging mind. Throughout his entire life, this exhibition is a portrayal of "peculiarity of modernity life".
